A Month of Poems
April was National Poetry Writing Month. People were to write a poem a day for thirty days.
I’m really not that much of a poet but I gave it a shot.
Half the time, I would forget and half to pull something together before the midnight deadline. In fact, there’s a poem called midnight, because it’s all I could think about when trying to write, and because I started it about six minutes before the clock struck twelve.
There were some bumps in the road. The first poem April Fools I accidentally published an unfinished version and didn’t notice for a couple days.
Also, I titled one The Overnighter when I meant the All Nighter, and again didn’t realize, and it was too late to change.
All in all I think it went well. Some were even curated which is always a bonus.
